Jonas Chevalier 5851c31127 terraform-providers: handle go modules (#104667) 
* terraform-providers: handle go modules

More and more terraform providers are switching from vendored
dependencies to Go modules.

Let's say that you update the "aws" provider and it fails. You can run
it again with:

    ./update-provider aws --vendor

Any package that has the "vendorSha256" key will be considered as a go
module package.

The script now also supports adding new providers by using the
<owner>/<repo> format. Eg:

     ./update-provider hetznercloud/hcloud --vendor

The bash completion name should map the binary name, so that it can be
loaded by the bash-completion package automatically.

zimbatm bbc9af1f0a tree-wide: do not use pkgs.extend in nixpkgs 
Each invocation of pkgs.extends adds 130MB of allocation to the hydra
evaluator. We are already struggling with the amount of memory nixpkgs
requires.

`pkgs.extend` is a useful escape-hatch, but should be not be used inside
of nixpkgs directly.

zimbatm c409f69480 pythonPackages.pip: make reproducible (#102222) 
The previous attempt wasn't covering all of the bases. It relied on
invoking that pip-install-hook, and didn't apply to pip itself.

The core issue is that the generated .pyc files embed some of the
temporary paths, which are randomly generated. See

In this new attempt, the approach is to patch the TempFile
implementation directly, so that it creates stable temporary
directories. We also assume that if SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH is set, we are in
a scenario where reproducible builds are desirable and enter that
branch.

zimbatm 8f2be9ac36 nss: make reproducible (#102156) 
According to
https://hg.mozilla.org/projects/nss/file/c1fad130dce2081a5d6ce9f539c72d999f59afce/build.sh#l129
the FIPS mode is not enabled by default. Yet we generate the .chk files
that are only meant to be used for that mode. I have a sense that those
have been cargo-culted around.

Adding FIPS is still possible but you have to explictily build the lib
with `pkgs.nss.override { enableFIPS = true; }`

zimbatm c3357d2cd9 buildRubyGem: remove Makefiles 
The generated Makefile is not reproducible. The HDRS section is inode
dependent. "sitearchdir" and "sitelibdir" contains a timestamp and

Instead of trying to make it reproducible, remove it entirely. It was
only useful for generating the .so file and it no longer needed.

zimbatm 7aee32121a ruby: make the build reproducible 
ext/io/console/io-console.gemspec was embedding a timestamp which made
the build not reproducible. Gems respect SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH so it's
enough to just delete that line if it exists.

This file has been fixed in
https://github.com/ruby/io-console/commit/679a941d05d869f5e575730f6581c027203b7b26#diff-d8422f096931c58d4463e2489f62a228b0f24f0492950ba88c8c89a0d741cfe6
And then ruby regularly merges that gem into their own repository. Ruby
master is fixed but none of the ruby releases have been fixed yet.

lib/ruby/gems/2.6.0/specifications/default/io-console-0.4.7.gemspec now
contains:

zimbatm c79ff8ddca terraform: fix withPlugins 
Move the providerSourceAddress fallback to the terraform.withPlugins
function. Since plugins can be arbitrary derivations, there is no
guarantee that this attribute will be exposed.

While doing that I also cleaned the toDrv function to only pass
attributes to the builder which are required by the build.

The Terraform 0.13 fallback slug has changed from
`nixpkgs/<provider-owner>/<provider-name>` to `nixpkgs/<provider-name>`
as the owner is also not always available. As a nixpkgs user, all I know
is that the provider is in nixpkgs and his name, the owner information
is not necessarily easy to get by.

zimbatm 2f5277d92e nix-build-uncached: remove the nix wrap (#96357) 
Nix is one of those few things where it's actually better to use the
version that is on the host. This avoids having to deal with Nix
compatibility issues, and download a second version of Nix on hosts like
GitHub Actions.

zimbatm 31ead7d030 srcOnly: rename buildInputs to nativeBuildInputs 
The only reason to pass build inputs is to extend the unpackPhase with
custom unpack commands. Eg: add "unrar" to unpack rar sources. And those
should really be passed as native build inputs. Why? Because
nativeBuildInputs is for dependencies that are used at build time but
will not propagate as runtime dependencies. And also, cross-compilation.

zimbatm bbbc419186 srcOnly: fix invocation and document 
Previously, callPackage would try and fill the arguments such as `name`
and `src` which would cause problems if those existed as top-level
attributes. This also makes it clearer what part is the function
signature.

Then document the derivation inline in the code to explain the ellipsis
and various use-cases.

zimbatm 4ebd229369 google-compute-engine-oslogin: fix bash reference 
This is the bash that is being called when logging into the VM. This
fixes prompt escaping issues and also restores tab completion to the
logged-in user.
