Commit 9428c28f7a added a note in
`CONTRIBUTING.md` saying that, "For consistency, there should not be a
period at the end of the commit message."
I believe it would be more correct (with respect to consistency) to
say that there should not be a full stop/period at the end of the
commit message's *summary line* (the first line of the commit message)
(indeed, the example commit message just above this note clearly does
use full stops outside of its summary line), and this patch changes
`CONTRIBUTING.md` accordingly.
This patch uses the library function `lib.escapeShellArg` to improve
the handling of shell aliases in the NixOS module `bash`, copying the
corresponding change made to the `zsh` module in commit
1e211a70cb (for which GitHub pull
request #47471 was filed).
This patch resolves GitHub issue #16973.
This change presumably also should be copied to the `fish` module, but
I don't know `fish` syntax so that won't be done by me.

Add the package `staccato`, "a command line program that lets you
compute statistics from values from a file or standard input".
I have tested this change per nixpkgs manual section 13.1 ("Making
patches").
Having fixed the Google Compute Engine image build process's copying
of store paths in PR #24264, I ran `nixos-rebuild --upgrade switch`...
and the GCE image broke again, because it sets the NixOS configuration
option for the sysctl variable `kernel.yama.ptrace_scope` to
`mkDefault "1"`, i.e., with override priority 1000, and now the
`sysctl` module sets the same option to `mkDefault "0"` (this was
changed in commit 86721a5f78).
This patch raises the override priority of the Google Compute Engine
image configuration's definition of the Yama sysctl option to 500
(still lower than the priority of an unmodified option definition).
I have tested that this patch allows the Google Compute Engine image
to again build successfully for me.
In `nixos/modules/virtualisation/google-compute-image.nix`, copy store
paths with `rsync -a` rather than `cp -prd`, because `rsync` seems
better able to handle the hard-links that may be present in the store,
whereas `cp` may fail to copy them.
I have tested that the Google Compute Engine image builds successfully
for me with this patch, whereas it did not without this patch.
This is the same fix applied for Azure images in commit
097ef6e435d5b3fcde92e67abbaaaaaf05c0723d.

In the `meta`data for the `google-fonts` package --
- the `homepage` field was set to the URL
<https://www.google.com/fontsl>, which would appear to be a
misspelt version of <https://www.google.com/fonts>, which now
redirects to <https://fonts.google.com>.
- the `description` field referred to Google Fonts as "Google Font".
This patch corrects these errors, and updates the `homepage` URL.
Update the `drive` package from version "20151025" to version 0.3.8.1,
