They always can be regenerated during the actual build, and they are sometimes
random, e.g in Tensorflow;
platforms -> NIX_BUILD_TOP/tmp/install/35282f5123611afa742331368e9ae529/_embedded_binaries/platforms
* Use -rc version instead of a git checkout. Rename derivation
accordingly;
* Change PLUGIN_PATH similar to Arch;
* Fix install phase so that random files aren't installed and plugins
use separate directory;
* Use linkSoVersions to remove duplicate libraries.
This fixes a serious bug on NixOS with swraid where mdadm arrays weren't
properly stopped on shutdown. Rather than fixing the unit by adding
`Before=final.target` we completely move to upstream units, which uses
systemd shutdown hooks instead. This also drives down maintenance costs
for us.
We also correct paths in udev rules. This is cleaner and allows for less
unexpected behaviour. We still check for self-references, however we do
it manually now and only for binaries as udev rules can have them.
Rather, we patch them out during initrd generation now.
This merges work done by yorickvP and timokau in #63208 and #63616 respectively.
Now the derivation builds both libtensorflow and the Python package and puts them into
different outputs.
Quite a bit of improvements were done on the top, including:
* Use official tag revision as source, not a branch;
* Use all system libraries possible (before only one was actually used);
* Move various environment variables to the derivation itself from hooks;
* Use source Python build instead of wheel build to ensure fixup hooks do their important jobs on libraries;
* And more that I forgot!
Turns out markers are non-deterministic after all and even our patching still
doesn't solve this problem completely. For example (tensorflow deps, this is a
complete diff so actual dependencies don't differ):

Instead of trying to patch these markers further we now completely clear them.
Nix hacks for ignoring markers are restored and expanded so that we don't even
attempt to parse the marker.
Also drop preInstall cleanup for dependencies. The reason is while it's more
thorough than default cleanup in buildBazelPackage if such a problem happens we
should fix buildBazelPackage instead. Perhaps even move this (awesome!) snippet
there but it's very slow-running so we'd rather attempt to fix it in other
ways.
Anyway after an update at least .deps build, checked with `nix-build -A --check`.
* Split the package into wrapped and unwrapped versions;
* Use FHS chrootenv for libraries instead of adding them to
LD_LIBRARY_PATH;
* Fix wrapping so that icons now work.
Turns out fixing this only in importlib is not sufficient and we
need to backport CPython part of the fix too.
This patch is based on https://hg.python.org/cpython/rev/c16063765d3a
but because the code around is different there are some changes (C-strings
instead of Python objects etc.)
With this patch Tensorflow builds successfully on many-core machine.
Timestamp verification skip is no longer needed (not sure why). Generally we
better off always using the environment hack for all packages because that
ensures all NIX_* flags are correctly applied.
One possible improvement in future is to filter only NIX_* variables to
passthru in Bazel.
Without this Bazel always picks Python 3 which breaks Python 2 packages.
Strangely enough just dropping this patch works, with all `bazel.tests`
passing.
This is a refactor of how resolvconf is managed on NixOS. We split it
into a separate service which is enabled internally depending on whether
we want /etc/resolv.conf to be managed by it. Various services now take
advantage of those configuration options.
We also now use systemd instead of activation scripts to update
resolv.conf.
NetworkManager now uses the right option for rc-manager DNS
automatically, so the configuration option shouldn't be exposed.
imgtrust is needed to run netboot.xyz scripts.
ping is useful for testing network settings.
Also add HTTP option for clarity (it's already being built).
